Thick As Thieves - Announcement Trailer

This inaugural trailer for Warren Spector’s Thick as Thieves premiered at The Game Awards 2024! Working from an early version of a storyboard from the developer and key mechanics to showcase, the Big Farmer team got to work on how to present this new take on stealth in the best way possible. From script rewrites and some intensive pre-vis, their team decided on an ambitious hybrid approach combining custom animation and cinematics with game capture.
The trailer leans into the Thick As Thieves alternate history, moody look and feel, and experiments with dynamic lighting throughout. Big Farmer created three custom, highly stylised smash breakouts to properly introduce the three intriguing playable characters. Set dressing across all scenes in Unreal, their team took a lot of care making sure the game looked its best and maintained a gorgeous atmosphere throughout to support the narrative journey. Wrapped up with some stunning audio design featuring VO talent plus a big name track courtesy of Jane’s Addiction, this eye-catching introduction to Thick As Thieves was ready to debut as viewers watched live around the world.
