The holiday season is the most important period in the gaming industry. However, the Christmas spirit and military equipment don't go well together, especially nowadays.
In order to bring back the holiday spirit to the audience of World of Tanks, we brought them back to their childhood, when life was full of presents, magic was real, and their favorite movie characters would handle any problem. For this reason, the campaign featured our viewers' childhood idols: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Milla Jovovich, which was their first ever collaboration.
We found that this year even more people didn't feel the Christmas spirit. Among the usual causes, such as the consumerist nature of the winter holidays, the loss of childhood's fascination, the lack of desire to spend money on dozens of gifts, too much work, what have you, there was also the accumulated fatigue from the tough pandemic years.
Also, we made an amazing discovery — even those who didn't want to celebrate Christmas were ready to spend some money to organize a holiday for their children, and by doing so, adults revived the Christmas spirit in themselves. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible for everyone, or at least that is what some people thought...
This is where our story begins. Our childhood heroes come to the rescue, easily deal with the villains on the screen and save the Holiday spirit in a movie they’re starring in. And then, in an equally easy way, they come off screens to real life to bring back the Holiday spirit to a father, his son, and ultimately, our viewers.
