Have a Nice Death

Have a Nice Death is a hand-drawn 2D Action Roguelike where players assume the role of Death, Founder and CEO of Death Incorporated, the giant underworld organization responsible for processing souls in the afterlife. As the company’s supreme leader, they explore the darkly charming, procedurally generated departments of the corporation’s headquarters to round up and rehabilitate rogue employees who have been ignoring company protocol and snatching up far too many souls on Earth. Getting the department bosses—also known as Sorrows—and their minions under control, however, is a difficult task and requires multiple runs to complete. Luckily, players have an arsenal of weapons, spells and special skills on hand to get the job done.

Developed by Magic Design Studios and published by Gearbox Publishing, Have a Nice Death originally launched in Steam Early Access on March 8, 2022. After a successful year-long run in Early Access, the darkly charming roguelike officially launched on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and Steam Deck) on March 22, 2023. Following its full launch, media and players from around the world praised the hack’n’scythe adventure for its lovable characters, satisfying combat and gorgeous hand-drawn visuals.
