Project Vesperi

PROJECT VESPERI is a branching-narrative sci-fi game about a sign of life on Venus where every character can live or die depending on your choices. The game is designed as a short impactful narrative experience, built from the ground up to be replayable with complex emotional characters and multiple endings. Every decision you make, no matter how small, affects the outcome of the story. Simply exploring the world can unearth new narrative moments.

You play as Doctor Evelyn Roth, an astrobiologist dedicated to searching for potential signs of life across our solar system. After failing to find life on Mars, Evelyn is determined to find life beyond Earth, even at the sacrifice of leaving her family behind. On her second years-long tour away from Earth, Evelyn longs to reunite with her daughter. When an anomaly is found on Venus, she must decide how far she’ll go to secure it when an armed intruder emerges, risking her life and the fate of everyone in the station.

This indie game originally started as a student project that at minimum was always meant to be a portfolio piece for everyone involved. As our team has continued to develop the game in our free time after we’ve all graduated, we believe we’ve really built something special that gamers will love and could be representative of the kinds of games we’ve dreamed of making as a studio. Brought to life through branching narrative design gameplay, cinematic filmmaking techniques, and cutting-edge performance capture of our incredible actors, the story is our proudest achievement.

We intend to release the game for free, as a testament to what can be achieved today with free tools and student resources. We hope that Project Vesperi will not only be an inspiration for what is possible at the indie or ‘AA’ level, but that it is also a memorable and enthralling experience gamers will want to play again and again to discover all the possible endings to their story.
