The Threads of Time Announce Trailer was an exciting and multifaceted project where LAYER was tasked with bringing an incomplete asset and a broad creative idea to life. Our responsibilities spanned script re-writes, voiceover (VO) talent acquisition, editing, full sound design, motion graphics, versioning, and collaborating with animation partner Realtime UK to match the aesthetic of the existing animated cinematics.

Once the animation was set, we re-wrote the script to ensure the narrative captured the epic, time-traveling journey of the game, emphasizing the game's themes of gathering a party of heroes and uncovering a plot that threatens to unravel history itself. The reworked script allowed us to better convey the unique allure of Threads of Time, giving viewers a taste of its charm and deep storytelling.

Next, we acquired the perfect VO talent, selecting a voice that conveyed the gravitas and excitement of the game’s narrative. Our editing process brought everything together, skillfully weaving animation, VO, and gameplay footage into a polished, engaging trailer.

Full sound design played a critical role in creating the immersive atmosphere, from the subtle echoes of time passing to the sweeping musical moments. Motion graphics were incorporated to further elevate the visuals, providing energy and dynamism throughout the trailer. Finally, we versioned the trailer for various formats to ensure it could be optimized for different platforms and reach as many viewers as possible.
