Awaken 8: Fragments Left Behind

This cinematic trailer offers the NYX judges an exclusive early Trailer preview of Awaken 8, a story-driven RPG where memories, trauma, and hidden identities awaken extraordinary power. This preview is part of the project’s upcoming world reveal campaign and will not be released publicly until later this year.

The sequence begins with Jin Kasai unleashing his masked form, Remnant, battling through enemy soldiers across a snow-covered battlefield before confronting one of the powerful Virex Elites, Kane. As the conflict escalates, the narrative transitions to Linda Heartily, whose mysterious masked persona, Selene, emerges beneath moonlit cherry blossoms. She encounters Lilith, another deadly Virex Elite assassin. Through stylized combat choreography, cinematic framing, and distinctive anime-realism art direction, the trailer reveals the awakening of two characters whose paths are destined to collide. The sequence concludes with Selene’s final shot against the Virex Elite as the screen fractures, hinting at the larger world and unfolding conflict of Awaken 8. The project is independently created by Linda Heartily Nguyen and features original music written for its cinematic storytelling, including the featured track “Rising Legend.”
