Forgotlings is a narrative-driven adventure set in a hidden world where lost and forgotten objects have formed their own civilizations. Players follow Fig, a newly awakened forgotling who sets out on a journey across diverse tribes and forgotten landscapes to uncover the truth behind a mysterious Beast threatening their world.
Blending exploration, platforming, and dialogue-driven storytelling, Forgotlings places player choice at the center of its experience. Conversations, alliances, and difficult decisions shape relationships between tribes and influence how the story unfolds. While players can engage in combat with enemies, the game emphasizes meaningful interactions, character-driven storytelling, and the emotional consequences of player actions.
The world of Forgotlings is brought to life through a distinctive painterly visual style and with 2D traditional hand-drawn animation. Everyday objects become expressive characters, while vibrant environments evoke the feeling of rediscovering forgotten places. The experience is further supported by a fully orchestrated musical score that reinforces the emotional tone of the journey. It notably features the internationally renowned choir ensemble Theatre of Voices which grounds the emotional aspect in an otherwise fantastical setting (work includes Denis Villeneuve's oscar-winning feature Arrival).
Through themes of memory, identity, and belonging, Forgotlings explores what it means to be forgotten—and how communities can rediscover purpose and unity in uncertain times.
