The strategic marketing campaign for launching the original IP of RPG dungeon crawler, Demeo, was much like the virtual tabletop RPG game itself -- a first of its kind that introduced a new audience to a new platform and resulted in numbers that the VR industry had long waited to see.
The campaign, which began with announcing the game well in advance of launch all the way through post launch, included everything from PR, advertising and a truly incredible media kit to social media, community relations and influencer engagements.
Highlights of the campaign included engagements with high profile influencers such as Felicia Day and Critical Role (the latter garnering an initial 600+K views within the first month); a “first reactions” video from some of the most famous names in games that initially had more than 30K views; and an aggressive media relations campaign that resulted in more than 90 articles at launch and reviews touting Demeo as “The Best Multiplayer, Virtual Reality D&D Clone Ever Made (Ars Technica), “A Social VR Masterclass” (UploadVR), and “The RPG Experience VR Gamers Have Been Waiting For” (The Next Web). All elements were peppered with incredibly polished assets and trailers of the highest production quality.
And this is just the beginning. Since launch, we have launched new adventure modules for the game and have plans to bring the game to more platforms in the future.
