Jurassic World Primal Ops was developed and published by Behaviour Interactive. In June 2022, Jurassic World Primal Ops was launched worldwide in association with the theatrical release of the film Jurassic World Dominion.

Winifred Phillips (the composer of the music for Jurassic World Primal Ops) is a BAFTA-nominated game composer best known for composing music for six of the game industry's biggest franchises: Assassin's Creed, God of War, Lineage, LittleBigPlanet, The Sims, and Total War. The game casts players in the roles of elite dinosaur handlers working for the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW). In this capacity, players undertake missions to rescue dinosaurs from poachers, mercenaries, and other malevolent forces. The action of the game is set in various locales across North America following the calamitous release of the dinosaurs from the Lockwood estate at the end of the film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The game is a top-down action-adventure in which players are tasked with collecting dinosaurs, leveling them up to increase their effectiveness, and deploying them during missions to defeat enemies. As players successfully complete their rescue missions, their dinosaur repository grows. Many dinosaur species feature signature strengths, requiring the player to employ strategy when selecting dinosaur companions for missions.
